An Intimate Talk with Mary Tyler Moore
Просмотров 108 тыс.7 лет назад
An Intimate Talk with Mary Tyler Moore Shocked and saddened to hear Mary Tyler Moore is no longer with us. When I was fourteen, I had the pleasure of meeting her. When I expressed my passion for filmmaking, she invited me to spend a day with her on set of a film she was working on. It was an incredible experience but she went out of her way to make it extraordinary - giving me her chair to sit ...

It’s so sad that some people only focus on her looks….. saying things like she has had too much plastic surgery, she looks horrible, her make up is awful, etc. it seems like when people age they tend to get put down, no matter what they do. People are either saying their plastic surgery is awful, it’s too much, or if they don’t have any they will say how terrible & old they look and how they need some work done on them. It’s obvious that she has had plastic surgery, but it doesn’t seem like it’s over the top and her make up isn’t that bad. But mostly, it’s really not important at this point. Some people sound like that none of her achievements, her success, her amazingly warm & loving personality, her hard work towards charity, etc. does not matter anymore because of how she looks. Getting old is a part of life and we will all face it one day. Some people are just paving the road to be judged like this one day because they keep that thought process alive and well and continue to put it out there.

MTM is so elegant, beautiful & graceful. I’ve always enjoyed her work and loved the characters of Laura Petrie & especially Mary Richards. These characters along with the real life Mary are the kind of people who are so uplifting….. the kinda people who always brighten your day & make you smile. ❤

At 9:50 when MTM relates what Elvis told her about how MTM was the first leading lady in his movies that he has not slept with this would include many actresses . Barbara Eden , Stella Stevens , Joan O Brien , Ann Margaret , Anne Helm , Donna Douglas , Nancy Sinatra , Mary Ann Mobley , Suzanna Leigh , Yvonne Craig , Juliet Prowse , Shelley Fabares , Ursula Andress , Carolyn Jones etc . While I believe some of these ladies but I doubt all. Notice I did not mention Barbara Stanwyck , Angela Lansbury , Joan Blondell or Delores Del Rio . But it was a nice story by MTM .

We all attempt to put forth in this life our best selves and after watching this , I believe it will help me to do as much as I can to put the best in me forward. Her spirit is infectious. When she says as time goes by she has an appreciation for how things Can go in life = the good and the bad moments and all of it is a gift. It’s a gift even in moments when it doesn’t feel that way. We get something out of each moment so embrace it.

There is such a wonderful back history in gargoyles that could be built out and adapted as a reflection of times and similar issues reoccurring in a new age. Trick would be to avoid the TMNT issue. Keep it mature and smart. The ‘children’ here should be us as a current society and the dude (forget his name) who bought them to place on his building. Good opportunity for a through line there. How did he know? Why did he do it? What is their ultimate purpose in this new land?

I've been binging on MTM and I have DVDs!!! ☺️ I watched the Oprah 's MTM Reunion just yesterday, I think I've seen it 3 times after first seeing it on Oprah. Enjoyed that Reunion! I've been binging MTM and Dick Van Dyke! 👍🏾 With this interview, my question has FINALLY been answered that I've wondered for yearsssssssssssssss!!!!!! 😮😮 That woman scowling at Mary during the opening scene that we all love 😆😄Mannnn, oh man, I check out that lady each and everytime and she cracks me up!!! I've always wondered - is the she angry, is she angry and annoyed, does she think this is ridiculous? 🤷........ I always wondered while still laughing at her! 😆 Now, I know andddddd I also now even know her name bc Mary actually took a moment to actually ask her what I too wanted to know!!! 😅 Wow😮 I hope someone from Ms. Hazel's family has seen this interview! I'm sure it would bring them laughter and joy!!!🤗 Enjoyed this interview! Thank you!! 🥀 6.22.23

Mary Tyler Moore's last husband cardiologist Robert Levine has recently said that Mary Tyler Moore struggled greatly in the last few years of her life with her vision. Due to the long-term affects of her diabetes she had to have multiple laser treatments on her retinas to try and at least delay her worsening blindness. He said near the end of her life she was nearly blind.

Just visited the Mary Tyler Moore statue in downtown Minneapolis 2 weeks ago. Told my wife to please shoot the photo quickly, and fortunately was wearing my sunglasses, because it was quite emotional. I loved Mary and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. I was 13 in 1973 when I discovered it. The statue is back at the intersection where the iconic scene of Mary's hat toss occurred in the opening credits.

Before my employment in the entertainment industry, I was front office supervisor at the Waldorf, where Ms. Moore kept an apartment in the hotel's towers. She was everything gracious and kind. I sent her flowers on the occasion of her being nominated for Ordinary People and she wrote me back a most beautiful letter. I've seen so many interviews of Ms. Moore over the years, this one is a true favorite. Well-done. Mary Tyler Moore--sorely missed.

What a fantastic interview. I absolutely adore MTM and watching this interview it's easy to see why. She was an incredibly funny actress in both the Dick Van Dyke Show and the Mary Tyler Moore Show, but when I first saw her in Ordinary People I was shocked at how amazing she was as a dramatic actor. She was stunningly good and every time I see that film I get chills. I love hearing her talk about her career and life, she is so interesting and has such a great, sparkling personality and she's so funny. She is a national treasure and the world sure could use more Mary Tyler Moores in it.

That was an interesting comment she made about Hitler and also about the moment she became a vegetarian with the cow. And her downcast moment about the current corruption and where things are headed. Definitely someone with a vision and a lot of humanity. She made so many people happy both with MTM Show and Dick Van Dyke. And her work with diabetes. A true giver.
